Following a very courageous battle with cancer, Betty (Thompson) Anseth went to heaven on September 21, 2021 in Solvay Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty was born to Ted and Joyce Thompson on December 10, 1953 in Duluth, MN. She Graduated from Central High School in 1972 and continued to Duluth Votech College for Architectural Drafting and later returning for her Paraprofessional Certificate. Betty married the love of her life Robert Anseth on December 14, 1974 and shortly after started their family with 2 children. Betty worked many years at Minnesota Fabrics which helped fuel her love and creativity for sewing, knitting and crafting. Many people have been blessed with so many of her creations of quilts, scarves, hats, mittens and more at her craft sales throughout the years. After obtaining her Paraprofessional Certificate she went on to work for 20+ years in the Duluth Public School District. Throughout her years within the school district she gained so many dear and loyal friends that remained constant through her journey. For those friends her family is forever grateful that she was blessed to have them in her life. Betty loved spending time at the cabin on the Gunflint trail, at home in her beautiful garden that she was so proud of and riding roller coasters. She was always on the hunt for a good bargain, wether it be a garage sale or her favorite stores. “A penny is a penny!” she would say. Betty also loved watching her 3 grandchildren playing in their many sports, and their other accomplishments that she was always so proud of.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Theodor (Ted) & Joyce Thompson; her sister, Mavis Sailstad; In-laws, Dorsey & Katherine (Kay) Anseth; and Brother-in-Law, Dale Anseth.

Betty is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 46 years Robert, Daughter Jennifer (Michael) Koralia, Son Scott, Grandchildren Nathan, Ella and Piper Koralia, Special Friend Kathy Anderson, Extended family and friends.

With utmost gratitude the family would like to thank the amazing staff at Solvay House for their above and beyond care and support over the past 2 months. And the wonderful staff at Essentia Oncology & Infusion over the past 3 years.

Per Betty’s request no funeral or service will be held, however, a Celebration of Life will be held Friday December 10th from 4:00-8:00pm at Blackwoods Event Center in Proctor, MN.r. Betty asked that if you wanted to memorialize her in any way, she asked that a tree be planted in her honor or a roller coaster of your choice be ridden.
