A celebration of life will be held outside on August 15 from 1-4pm with a short service from 1-1:30pm at 5580 Ryan Road in Duluth. We ask that guests respect social distancing guidelines.

Betty was born in Duluth on October 30, 1938 to Melvin and Alli Johnson. She lost her fight to cancer on July 31st.

She graduated from Clover Valley High School and went on to attend college in Duluth. After that she worked for both Maurice’s and Lakeview Castle for many years.

Betty married Fred Poe on June 6, 1959. They loved to travel, camp, spend time with family, dance and go to Country Fest. She volunteered for 4-H, Girl Scouts, Homemakers and various school events. She was an active member of French River Lutheran Church. She was a hard worker, kind and always made people laugh.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents Alli and Melvin Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Fred plus her 5 kids, Debi (Dave) Ruberg, James (Amy) Poe, Amy (Erick) Bergerson, Angel (Terry) Johnson, and Heather Poe (Nathan Grooms). Also survived by her only sister Barb (Alan) McNickel, and nieces Kim (Scott) Eckman, Renee (Todd) Andrews. She leaves behind her 16 grandkids, 1 great grandson, 4 great nephews and 1 great niece. She will be missed by family and friends.
