In Remembrance

Ted Joseph Marnich, January 14, 1960 – March 2, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted Marnich of Superior, WI on Monday, March 2, 2026 while under the compassionate care of the hospice team at St. Mary’s/Essentia Health following complications from an acute ischemic stroke.

Born in Duluth, MN.  A graduate of Denfeld High School.  Teddy spent the early part of his career bartending at the Chinese Lantern, was the Assistant General Manager at Northland Country Club, followed by work at The Afterburner and Hardees.  He spent the last 19+ years employed as a baker/bakery manager for Super One Foods.

Teddy loved his family, friends, sports (especially his beloved Twins), old time rock ‘n roll, fishing, loving up his furry 4 legged “nephews” and “nieces”, hanging out with the gang at Bergey’s and spent treasured time perfecting his golf game.  As a youth, he participated in baseball, basketball, football and boxing at the Boys Club of Duluth.

It was Teddy’s generous heart, huge smile, sense of humor, loyalty and affection that won hearts.

Ted is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Marnich, and his mother, Dorothy (Kinsman) Marnich. He is survived by his brother, Randy Marnich (Lucia); sister, Vickie Reynolds (Tom); cousins, nephews, niece and their families.

We wish to thank all of the people whose friendship meant so very much  to him; you were his second family.  Endless thanks to Merl and Anne Kitto for always being there for Teddy right up to the end.

In memory of Teddy, go fishing with a loved one, tell a corny joke, try once more for that hole-in-one, lift a glass when you think of him.

A Celebration of Life will take place in June, date to be determined.
