Susan Erin Bugbee Grooms
May 26, 1957 to January 1, 2025
Susan Erin Bugbee Grooms, age 67, of Hermantown, MN, passed on January 1, 2025 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN, from COPD.
Sue was born in Seattle, Washington on May 26, 1957 to parents Richard and Virginia (Needham) Bugbee. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Sue is survived by her children, Tauna and Rick, brothers Skip (Tahizy) and Dan (Pam), grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece and nephews, many cousins, and husband John.
Sue graduated from Burnsville High School and later pursued and achieved a degree in Law enforcement. She worked in various fields related to Law Enforcement, her final career prior to being a homemaker was a Flight Attendant for Mesaba Airlines.
One of her hobbies was music. She was very talented. She taught herself to play guitar and piano and had a very beautiful and powerful voice. Sue wrote many songs and personally recorded them. Her children will always cherish the memories of her producing her own music.
Sue was an extremely loving and giving person to family and strangers. She never left anyone in need of anything. She loved spending time with family, and made any special day into a huge deal. Her heart was huge. Animals were her passion. Domestic or wild, she made sure that every animal she came in contact with was well cared for.
Horses were a huge part of her life for many years. She truly loved her horses and horse camping was her most favorite thing to do. She truly enjoyed spending time on miles of wooded trails with her trusted partner, Smokey and then a nice evening around a campfire with family and friends.
We are so grateful for the entire hospice care team that has been working with her, and a very sincere thank you to her Nurse Tera and her CNA Cindy, these two ladies made Sue’s day whenever they were around.
Sue was always a believer in the Lord, and the last year or so, she spent really getting to know her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus granted her a little break in her struggles for the last few months which really helped her enjoy some quality life before passing. While she will be missed by all, we are forever grateful for that.
A celebration of her life will be held on January 10, 2025 from Noon to 3pm, with service and prayer in the beginning. Please feel free to come and share any photos, memories, funny stories, etc
