Louise Mary Quast
January 30, 1943 - May 15, 2024
Louise Mary Quast, 81, of Duluth, Minn., passed away peacefully at Essentia Health Duluth St. Mary’s Hospital on May 15, 2024.
Born on January 30, 1943, in Long Branch, NJ, she moved to Duluth as a young child and was raised in West Duluth, graduating from Denfeld High School in 1961.
Louise attended UMD earning a degree in speech and journalism. Education was very important to Louise, and she encouraged her younger cousins to follow suit and attend college. Louise lived in St. Paul, and Crystal-New Hope, MN as an adult, and retired from the Tennant Company where she held many positions.
Louise had a love of reading/writing, theatre, music and the arts. She moved to Duluth in 2019 and was blessed to live near her childhood best friend, Thomas Bersell, and have a view of Lake Superior. which she loved. She spent many years visiting Duluth in the summer and driving up the North Shore.
Most recently Louise enjoyed visiting antique stores, having coffee at local café’s and watching the boats coming in and out of the Duluth port.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, George and Loueda Quast. She is survived by her many loving cousins and close friends. A private burial will be held later at Oneota Cemetery in West Duluth. Cremations arrangements were provided by Affordable Cremation, in Duluth, Minn.
