In Remembrance

Linda Haagensen, a beloved mother, sister and cherished friend, passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 25, 2024, at the age of 74. Born in Duluth, MN on November 10, 1949, to parents Vern and Elaine Nelson. She lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication.

Linda was preceded in death by beloved husband Ron Haagensen, married on November 10, 1987, and enjoying more than 45 happy years together.

Linda was best known for her love of pets, dogs, birds and even bunnies. Linda loved caring for and spoiling them as part of her family.

In her professional life, Linda excelled as a Licensed Practical Nurse, leaving a significant impact on Duluth’s healthcare industry at St. Mary’s West for more than 35 years, providing professional and compassionate care for uncountable patients.

Beyond her professional achievements, Linda was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved working around the house, pampering her dog Buffy and cockatiel Ludwig, camping and going on serene drives up Minnesota’s North Shore.

Linda is survived by sisters Cheryl and husband Brian Casement, Kathleen and husband James Sanders, son Matthew and daughter in-law Lisa Merzwski, stepson Ron and wife Cindi Morgan, stepdaughter Lisa and husband Dean Kaldahl, stepson Jim Haagensen, nieces Erin and Brittney and nephew John, all who will forever cherish the moments shared and the love they experienced together.

A memorial service to honor Linda Haagensen’s life will be held on October 29, 2024, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 4831 Grand Avenue, Duluth MN 55807. The visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM followed by a reception onsite with food and beverages provided.

The memory of Linda Haagensen will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
