Kimberly Jo Talamantes “Kim”
May 1, 1965 – October 27, 2025
Kimberly Jo Talamantes, lovingly known as “Kim,” took her journey home on October 27, 2025, in Superior, Wisconsin. She was born on May 1, 1965, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Shirley May Clutz “Chinski” and Emanuel Talamantes “Tally,” who both preceded her in death. She was also blessed with the love and guidance of her stepfather, James H. Chinski (also preceded in death), and her stepmother, Mary Mildred Talamantes “Millie” (also preceded in death).
Kim is survived by her children, Joshua David Talamantes and Candice Jo Talamantes “Bearheart,” and her cherished grandchildren: Quentin Talamantes, Selena Talamantes, Mallory Talamantes, Lakota Talamantes, Alayah Bearheart, Raelene Shatto, and Amari Essien “Talamantes.” She is also survived by her siblings: brother Ronald Talamantes, sister Debrah Talamantes “Balinsky,” sister Tammy Chinski and Tammy’s spouse, Todd Sickler, as well as many nieces, nephews, and several others she loved deeply and welcomed as family.
Kim earned her Medical Assistant degree and later achieved her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, an accomplishment she was especially proud of. For 14 years, she worked at the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) urgent care as a dedicated medical assistant. She lovingly served the LCO community, where many remember her as their “Nurse.” Though health challenges prevented her from pursuing a career in criminal justice, her identity as a caregiver and helper was woven into everything she did.
Those who knew Kim will remember her for her generous heart, her vibrant energy, and her unforgettable personality. She was loud and sometimes abrasive, but always with joy and excitement behind it. Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and she showered them with endless love and attention. Kim’s beautiful smile and contagious happiness left a lasting mark on everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
