As time passes I realize what an impression and influence Jim has had on my life and my family. I worked with Jim as a mechanic and helper in his logging business, as well as in roadwork, planting, and maintenance on forest properties that he managed. Jim taught me how to work....I mean really work. On day we selected and harvested nearly 400 Christmas trees from a plantation in Wisconsin....yes, and physically dragged all out to the access road for bundling and transport. Jim demonstrated honesty, virtuosity, humility, and I'm privileged to have worked with him and known him as a friend. An Italian and Greek, such would define him as "dynamic". He taught me how to effectively run a profitable firewood business which I still operate today at an age of 69. Such a great man in my life, a mentor and example. Yes....Jim has lived on in me, and each day I run my chain saw, and wood splitter....or tell a good story, or do a good deed, his memory becomes more alive and meaningful. Someday we will meet, and I will treasure working at his side again. Jim....the greatest.

Our condolences go out to Rae Ann and the Pappas family for your loss. Now that we have moved back to the neighborhood, It was a pleasure to pick out that favorite tree from the selection at Pappy's trees. Memories from childhood would flood back while Jim would help us load up our yearly tree. God Bless Steve and Kim Granmo Arlene,Greg,Mike, and Jerry Granmo also
