In Remembrance

Gary C. Hanson, husband of Kate Donovan, died Tuesday, October 7th at home.
He was born in Albert Lea Minnesota and moved to Iowa with his family ,where he spent much of his childhood.
The family moved to Duluth in time for Gary’s junior and senior year at “Old Central” high school.
He was a proud Navy veteran,  serving as a corpsman and submariner.
Gary worked as a lab technician at Miller Dwan for a number of years.
He also owned and operated a Lake Superior Fishing Charter business, Captain Gary’s Charters for many years.
Later in life he was an Amateur Radio enthusiast, NU0W.
Besides his wife of 40 years Gary is survived by siblings Rick and Diane and families, plus many cousins. He is also survived by brother in laws John, Pat and Dick, sister in laws Maureen and “Frenchie” and their families and a special niece Alaina.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father ,aunts and uncles and a cousin.
Gary wished to thank Drs. Nils Arvold, Nick Johnson and Roberto Fernandez; Aspirus St. Luke’s infusion clinic and Hospice home-care; Fairview Health system and the VA for his excellent care.
A memorial service at the Veteran cemetery in Saginaw will be held in spring.
