Elton Richard Holznagel

A Memorial Service will be held Monday October 27th at 10:30 with visitation at 10:00 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church,
6537 Industrial Road, Saginaw, MN 55779.
Lunch will be served followed by burial with Honors at the Veterans Cemetery 4777 US 53 Saginaw, MN 55779
Elton Richard Holznagel passed away in the early morning of October 13, 2025 with family by his side after a fall at home a week earlier.
Elton was born November 19, 1931 in Washburn, ND to Louis Holznagel and Grace Thompson Holznagel where he attended country school through 8th grade. He worked on the family farm and other farms in the area. He entered the Air Force in December of 1950 through September of 1954. Part of that was served in the Korean War. He was eventually stationed in Duluth, MN where he met Joan Delores Young. They married July 16, 1953. Their future included 3 daughters, Kathleen born in 1955, Colleen born in 1956 and Lori in 1960.
After he was discharged from the air force he began his career of 40 years driving semi.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, daughter Kathleen Dahl, parents, brothers Harold, Milton and Howard. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Karban (Mike) and Lori Privette (Steve Privette). Grandchildren Holly Johnson, Crystal Sjelin, Brad Privette (Holly) Sara Ellis (Tyler) 5 great grandchildren, Easton Privette, Koren & Lennox Sjelin, Keian Johnson, Kennadie Ellis, sisters Marlene, Maxine, Alida & Doretta.
