In Loving Memory of Catherine Pfeffer
(November 29, 1953 – August 14, 2025)

It is with great love and deep sadness that we share the passing of Catherine Pfeffer, age 71, of Cloquet, Minnesota, on August 14, 2025. Catherine passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Duluth, Minnesota, on November 29, 1953, Catherine lived a life defined by kindness, practicality, and devotion to those she loved. Known for her warm advice and generous heart, she touched countless lives through both her words and actions.

An accomplished knitter, Catherine created handmade blankets for loved ones and charities, slippers for those in need, and even masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her holiday baking—especially her famous fudge—was a beloved tradition, and her candy-making brought joy to family gatherings year after year.

She found her greatest joy in simple pleasures: peaceful days at Island Lake, annual trips to Florida for flea market treasures, and cherished travels with her mother and sisters.

Catherine began her career as a teacher’s aide before moving to Cloquet, where she devoted over 30 years to property management, taking pride in her work and building lasting relationships along the way.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Pfeffer; daughters Katie Pfeffer and Carie (Justin) Stattman; grandchildren Devan Erickson, Karyssa Clough, and Zach Clough; Grandpuppies Walter and Deja Stattman and sisters Mary Jo (Curt) Slowinski and Carole (Chuck) Mostrom.

Nineteen years ago, Catherine received the extraordinary gift of a kidney from her sister, Carole—a blessing that gave her nearly two more decades of life, love, and memories with her family. Her loved ones will forever be grateful for that precious gift of time.
