Betty Rae Klein

February 25, 1957 - August 17, 2025

A funeral will be held at 3;00 pm on September 6th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Meadowlands. She will be buried with her family in Forbes, MN

Betty Rae Klein was born February 25, 1957, to John and Frances Lanyk of Zim, Minnesota. The youngest of four children, she deeply loved her family, and in their later years, she cared for her mother and sister, Margy, with devotion. Betty also cherished her sister, Marianna and her brother, John.

On February 27, 2001, Betty married the man she wanted to be with forever, her best friend, Allan Klein. Together they shared many joys, including time spent fishing side by side.

On September 13, 2009, Betty was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She often spoke of her confidence in the resurrection hope, especially during times of sadness. The effect her faith had on her life enabled her to reconnect with her daughter, who she was so proud of.

On August 17, 2025, Betty passed away peacefully in a Duluth hospital.

We will remember her faith, strength, honesty, and love of nature. Betty had a tender spot for animals and especially adored her little dog, Puppett.

She is survived by her husband, Al; her daughter Rainy (Steve) Knoche; her sister Marianna Milfaith; two grandsons and three step-grandchildren; and beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Lorren Ray Butala; her parents, John and Frances Lanyk; her brother, John Lanyk; sister, Margy Samela; nephew, Rob Salmela; and her stepdaughter, Julie Klein.
