James Smokey died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in Duluth. He was born July 24, 1937 and raised in Virginia Minnesota. After graduating high school he joined the Air Force. Following the Air Force he received a degree in drafting from the University of Minnesota and was employed and lived in Duluth through his career. Jim was dedicated to family making trips back to Virginia on weekends. When Jim retired he moved back to Virginia, Minnesota. Jim is survived by; his nephew Steve Smokey; and cousin John Mish. He is preceded in death by; his parents, Nick and Agnes (Kupka) Smokey; and brother Richard Smokey. Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Calvary Cemetery in Virginia, MN.
