Michael John Rust

July 1, 1961 – April 11, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Michael “Mike” Rust, who left us on April 11th, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on July 1st, 1961, in Shakopee, Minnesota, Mike was a devoted husband, father, papa, son, brother, and friend whose wit, humor, and authenticity touched everyone who knew him.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ann; his daughters, Samantha (Nathan), Jamie (Erik), and Michaela (Brock); and his grandchildren, Nora, Olivia, Loretta, Lane, and Isla. Mike is also survived by his mother, Sherry, and his sisters, Robyn and Deonne. He was preceded in death by his father Tom and twin brother Mark. 

Mike’s legacy is one of living life fully and fearlessly—always true to himself and never with regret. His memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW in Carlton on May 3rd from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
