Robert M Hoffman

Robert M. Hoffman, age 77, died peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his family on October 30, 2024. Bob was born in 1947 in Duluth where he lived all of his life. He was a member of the Marine Corps from 1967-70 and served his country with honor in Vietnam.

Bob loved motorcycles and classic cars. He owned many Harleys over the years and had a large circle of friends who also enjoyed a “poker run” on a sunny summer weekend. He was an avid outdoorsman who hunted and fished, and an athlete who loved to water ski and pull everyone skiing behind his boat. Bob might be best known for being a sociable guy who always appreciated when someone bought him a drink.

Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ellen, his children Michael, Jennifer Kuchar and Melissa Niemi and 8 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 3-6pm at Mr. D’s, 5622 Grand Ave., in West Duluth. He will be interned with military honors at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery, at 4777 HWY 53, Saginaw on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 3pm.
