Mark Peterson, 86, of Duluth, passed quietly on Sunday October 26, 2014. He was born May 14, 1928 to Elmer and Margaret (Gorman) Peterson in Duluth.
Mark grew up in Duluth, and graduated from Denfeld High School, he later attended junior college and UMD. He married the love of his life, Mildred ‘Midge’ Swenson on June 14, 1952. Mark retired from MN Power after over 35 years of service. He was also a member of Lake Superior Masonic Lodge.
Mark enjoyed the outdoors, partridge hunting in the north woods, and spending time at the cabin up north. He and Midge also enjoyed traveling together. Mark had a quiet strength in times of need, and an unconditional love for family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister Gayle Rilling.
Mark is survived by his wife Midge; three children, Margie Peterson of Duluth, Jeannie (Andy) Pappas of Duluth, Steven (Linda) Peterson of Lewiston, MT; five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kyle) Weitzell, Anna Kelley, Jenny (Chase) Kingsbury, Sam Kelley, Christopher Peterson; extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Memorial Service Friday, October 31, 2014 at St. John’s Free Lutheran Church in Duluth.
