Eileen Marie (Rushford) Jorgenson, September 24, 1965 – March 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen Jorgenson of Virginia, MN, on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones at St. Mary’s Essentia Health in Duluth, MN.

Born in Beloit, WI, she later moved and attended Mountain Iron High School in Minnesota.  Eileen worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for various assisted-living and nursing home facilities across the Iron Range.  However, she reported that her most meaningful job was being “mom.” She fiercely loved her children.

Eileen loved and fought hard. She adored her family, friends, outlaw country, western movies, car rides, and her cat, Rambo. She enjoyed playing schmere with her family and was known to be a card shark.

Eileen is survived by her daughters, Jessica Jorgenson (Christopher Gillen) and Angeline (Jorgenson) Swanson (Brady Swanson); sister, Lora Palokangas (Brian Palokangas); brothers Dale Ellenberger, David Cuff; her stepchildren; as well as treasured cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Jorgenson; her daughter, Eileen Rushford; father, Robert Rushford; mother, Luella (Spangenberg) Wachlin; her siblings: Robert Cuff, Richard Cuff, Charles Ellenberger, Russell Rushford; and her beloved cousin, Vickie Creighton.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends.
