Howard J Grover

July 13, 1936 - July 28, 2025

Howard “Howie” Joseph Grover, 89,  was a proud Veteran of the Navy and Air Force where he served over 22 years. After he  retired from the Air Force, he worked as a mail carrier for 20 years. 

Howie was born on July 13, 1936 in Whitehall, Wisconsin.  He passed away on Monday, July 28th, 2025 at Essentia Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. 

Howie married the love of his life, JoAnn (Tatalovich) on August 13, 1960.  

Howie loved to golf, search for agates, tell stories about his life and spend time with his family. Howie also had a deep faith and loved to sing the old hymns.

Howie is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, his parents, Horace and Thea Grover, his brother Paul Grover, sister Jean Kulander, sister’s in law, Irene Grover, Ann Grover and his great grandson Callum Ciesielski. 

Howie is survived by his sons Jeff (Diane) Grover, Joe (Karen) Grover and daughters Jeanine Ryan, Jodi (Michael) Ciesielski. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his loving  brother Doug Grover, and sister Judy Larson, many cousins, nieces and nephews, his 2 special sisters in law Marilyn (Gary) Boman and Barbara Simmons and brother in law Paul Kulander. 

The family wishes to thank Viewcrest Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided for Howie. 

The family had a private service to honor Howie.
