A celebration of life will be held Friday August 8th at Castle Danger Brewery in Two Harbors from 5-10pm

Marc Frederick Elliott, 70, passed away June 22, 2025 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He “left it all on the ice”

Marc was born on October 2, 1954 to George F. and Connie (Combs) Elliott in Springfield, IL. At a young age, they moved to Minnesota where he grew up. He had many friends but none compared to his best friend whom he loved dearly, his brother, Paul. He graduated from Coon Rapids Senior High in 1972. High school sweethearts, Marc and Kathy (Kowalik), were married September 26, 1981. He went on to pursue his culinary degree from North Hennepin Technical College and was a pastry chef along the Northshore at Lutsen Resort, Bluefin Bay, and The East Bay Hotel. He wore many hats in the food industry, working for Arco Coffee and Sysco. He was also known for his cheesecakes and caramel; many often referring to him as “The Cheesecake King” or “The Caramel King”. Marc had a passion for writing. He was a free lance sports opinion writer for many years in the Lake County News Chronicle and The Duluth Reader as “The Masked Fan”. He loved all sports but to say hockey was his favorite would be an understatement. He loved music; The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, and many more. On Saturdays, while Kathy was working, you could find him in the basement of our 1st Ave home, with Chelsey and Bill, jamming with the stereo system on max volume, making the entire house vibrate.

But what he loved most was his family. It was no secret that his grandkids had him wrapped around their fingers.

Marc traveled all over the US for work, meeting people from many different walks of life. He dreamed of world peace and had been working on educating people with his project, Destiny of Peace.

Marc is survived by his mother, Connie Elliott of Girard, IL; his brother, Paul (Jill) Elliott of Blaine, MN; his daughter, Chelsey of Hermantown, MN; his son, William of Duluth, MN; his grandchildren, Jewel, Wyatt, Loretta, Charlotte and George; his nephews, Paul Jr. (Ali), Shon (Heather), Ryan (Sarah); his niece, Kelly; as well as many great nephews and nieces, cousins, friends and his best girl, his dog, Goldie.

Marc was preceded in death by his father, George Elliott.

Dag, words cannot describe the way my heart broke the night you passed away. I know you are no longer suffering but, selfishly, I wish you were here. You will always be the immortal man in my heart. I love you endlessly. Until we meet again

XOXO
