Janet A Chmielak

Janet Ann Chmielak, 77 of Ashland, WI passed away peacefully with her

loving family by her side on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Aspirus St Luke’s

in Duluth, MN. She was born on August 22, 1947 in Ashland, the

daughter of Vincent Puig and Geraldine Mitchell. On September 21,

1963 she married Bruce Chmielak in Ashland.

 

Survivors include her children: daughters Diana (Wes) Anderson, Cheri

(Ken) Deragon, Linda (Craig) Koleski, son Michael Chmielak;

grandchildren: Sara, David (Pamela) and Rachel (Allen Jensrud)

Anderson, Leah, Kalyn (Andy Grymala) and Matthew Deragon, Jordan

and Jeremy Miller and Alyssa Nelson; great grandchildren: Chase and

Olyvia Grymala and Emrie Anderson; sisters: Lorraine Olsson, Linda Sukala and Carolyn Ritter;

brother-in-law Joe (Deb) Chmielak, sisters-in-law: Pat Karker, Barb Netz and Nancy (Paul)

Tollefsrud; special friends: Dawn Berglund, Sharon “Fuz” Sokolich and Sue Robinson; many

nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

She was preceded in death by her father Vincent Puig and mother Geraldine Olson, husband

Bruce on July 8, 2023, brothers Bob Puig and Daniel Puig, sisters Karen (Jake) Jacobi and

Marlene Rooney, brothers-in-law Phil Olsson and Ed Sukala, sister-in-law Shirley (Paul) Martin

and best friend Nancy Dymesich deBraga.

 

A Celebration of Life cookout is being planned for the near future.
