Carol A Dougherty

Carol A Dougherty (Kit) 88 passed away on June 30, 2025 in St Luke’s Hospice Unit due to complications from a stroke.

Kit was born in Duluth, MN and spent most of her life in Proctor, MN.  She worked at the Medical Arts Building as the Elevator Lady for many years, she loved her job.  She made many lasting friendships there.  Kit also belonged to a group of neighborhood Ladies called the Knitting Club Group, they never knitted but shared all there lives ups and downs. Kit was very kind and loving and loved to tell her stories of long ago.  She loved to crochet and made many washcloths for friends and family.  She will be deeply missed.

Kit was preceded in death by her husband Don, her sister Geraldine Marie, her son Dean, her grandson Jerry and her granddaughter McKenzie.

She is survived by 5 children

12 grandchildren

6 great grandchildren

and 1 sister

The family would like to thank the staff at St Luke’s Clinic/Hospital, View-Crest Nursing Home, and the staff at Heritage Haven Assisted Living, her friends and a final thank you to the most wonderful group of caring people at St Luke’s Hospice Unit.

We believe our moms final words were “Going Up”
