Andrew Klay, 42, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2025. Born on July 9, 1982, in Midland, Michigan, Andrew brought light and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. He was the beloved son of Karen Klay and the late Greg Klay. He is also survived by his cherished sister, Errin (Chad) Welty, and numerous extended family members who loved him dearly. Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Greg; his paternal grandparents, Roger and Lois Klay of Traverse City, Michigan; and his maternal grandparents, Guy and Virginia Besey of Cadillac, Michigan. Andrew graduated from Sun Prairie High School in Wisconsin and briefly attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. He will be remembered as a soul of boundless compassion, a friend to all who needed comfort, and a quiet champion of nature’s beauty. His passions included photography, writing, and caring for animals, and he had an uncanny ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. A private family ceremony will be held to honor Andrew’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrew’s memory can be made to Nature Conservancy, reflecting his love for animals and nature. Andrew’s legacy of kindness and his love for the world around him will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. |
