WAKEFIELD, MI – Daniel Edward Gusman took his last breath on earth and his first breath in heaven with his sister and brother in law by his side on May 24, 2024. Danny passed away after a brief hospitalization for injury sustained during a fall at his home in Wakefield. Complications from his battle with cancer were a factor in his passing.

Danny was born in Wakefield, Michigan, on September 9, 1948. He is preceded in death by his wife Susan (Krook) on May 16, 2022 and his parents, Daniel and Doris Gusman of Wakefield. Danny is survived by his sister Shirley Moore and her husband Larry of Minnetrista, MN, nephew Robert Reine and family in Plymouth, MN, niece Robyn Stewart and family in northern Minnesota.

Danny joined the Navy after graduating from Wakefield High School. He was employed for most of his adult life in the logging industry after returning home from the Navy. He owned his own logging truck and transported logs throughout the U.P. and Wisconsin.

Danny notoriously restored and drove his beloved 1934 Ford Coupe throughout the Midwest, rarely missing a car show resulting in taking home many trophies. He remained active in work on collector vehicles and collected many as well as artifacts related to cars, trucks, gas station artifacts and things with 4 wheels in general.

Danny loved and visited with his Minnesota family frequently. This family worshipped Danny and enjoyed every moment with him…….joking, laughing, drinking beer and hugging often. To see Danny was to enjoy him and look forward to next fun times either in the U.P. or in Minnesota where they all reside.

Danny also loved his friends in Wakefield and throughout the U.P. To gather at the Wakefield Legion and schmooze was the highlight of his life after losing his beloved SueSue.

Danny leaves behind scores of friends and family, who loved him deeply and will miss him dearly.
