**Kenneth “Ken” Clausen, 87**

Poplar WI — Kenneth Clausen, aged 87, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 10, 2024. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 9,1937 to Simon and Agneta Clausen, Ken was the third child alongside siblings Warren, Muriel, and Roger.

In 1960, Ken married Marjorie Turnbull, marking the beginning of a loving partnership that flourished over 55 years until Margie’s passing. The couple first met at an outdoor retreat for Minnesota Fence and Iron, where Ken worked as an Iron worker. Their instant connection led them to a life shared in California, raising their family and embracing adventure.

Ken proudly served in the Navy as a Metalsmith Third Class aboard the USS Wadleigh DD 689 and was honorably discharged in 1963. His professional life was distinguished by a successful career in sales, demonstrating his charisma and dedication in every interaction.

An avid outdoorsman, Ken’s passions included boating, motorcycle riding, golfing, and fishing. He relished in culinary pursuits and often delighted family and friends with his cooking. His spirit of adventure was paralleled by his unwavering commitment to his family, cherishing every moment with his children and grandchildren.

Upon retiring to the Village of Poplar, Wisconsin, Ken continued to contribute vibrantly to his community. He served as a volunteer fireman, participated in the local snowmobile club, and was active on the sewer committee. His participation in the golf league and the fun he brought to each game underscored a life filled with joyful engagement and friendship.

Ken leaves behind a loving family: children Kenny (Pam) Clausen, Pauline (Bob) Schroeder, and Marty (Tina) Clausen; grandchildren Danica & Nichol Schroeder and Seth Clausen; and a community of friends who will miss his kind heart, warm smile, and readiness to always lend a helping hand.
