A celebration of life will be held at St. Ann’s Residence Chapel & Social Hall, 330 E 3rd St., Duluth, on Monday, November 20, 2017. Visitation 9:00 am with 10:00 am Mass officiated by Father John Doyle. Parking on street or Essentia’s parking ramp on E. 4th Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Parkinson’s Foundation.
Tom Nelson, 71, Duluth, joined his many relatives in heaven Monday, November 13, 2017. He was born July 23, 1946 to Lloyd and Cecelia (Walczynski) Nelson in Duluth.
Tom graduated from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic School, Lincoln Jr. High, and Denfeld High School. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he was a member of Friars of St. Francis. Tom worked at Advanstar Communications, where he had many friends and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
Tom was a gentle, friendly, well-liked person who always had a kind word and a smile for you. He was an avid baseball and football fan and loved all genres of music. Tom will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother John; and special grandmother Amelia Nelson.
Tom is survived by; three siblings, Judy (Dave) Amotozio, Mary Beth Nelson, Bill Nelson (Zoe Torgersen); nephews Donovan (Nicole) Amotozio, Jared Nelson, niece Kim (Derrick) Mason; as well as extended family and many friends.
