Scott Patrick ‘Scooter’ Brennan, 55, passed away Thursday May 12, 2016 at the Solvay Hospice House.

Born in Great Falls, Montana on May 29, 1960, Scott moved with his family to Duluth in 1962. A 1978 graduate of Denfeld High School, he later earned a machinist’s degree from the Duluth Area Vocational Technical Institute. In 1980, he landed a job with Northshore Manufacturing (now Builtrite)

in Two Harbors, where he worked for 34 years until his cancer diagnosis in May 2014. Thank you John and Steve Anderson for hiring Scott and making him part of your family.

At an early age Scott discovered his true passion when his family made a trip to Thunder Bay to watch auto racing. This began years of involvement in a variety of capacities. He competed as a driver on area tracks for eight years, and eventually found his calling as a set-up man and crew chief. He was the brainchild behind the #4 car driven by Kerry Hanson, and the team won numerous races as well as a track championship in the 1990’s.

As an auto racing fan, Scott and his special friend Bonnie followed and supported racer Joel Cryderman throughout the Midwest. Many Saturday nights were enjoyed at the Cedar Lake Speedway, and when Scott wasn’t watching he was helping in any way could with his expertise. He will be sadly missed throughout the racing community and by his many friends and co-workers.
