Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2016 at New Life Community Church, Floodwood MN. Visitation one hour prior to service, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Richard A. Runquist, 85, of Floodwood, MN, passed away with loving family at his side, Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Cloquet Memorial Hospital, Cloquet, MN.
Richard was born November 3, 1931 in Cloquet, MN to Charles and Anna (Aho) Runquist. He lived in Duluth, MN as a youth. His mother moved to Floodwood, MN where he attended school, graduating in 1951. Richard was an Air Force Veteran, honorably discharged in 1955. He is a member of the American Legion Post 262, Carl Anderson, Cloquet, MN.
Richard worked as a Plant Operator for LTV Steel, retiring in 1993. He loved art, sports, music and reading. Richard enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was affectionately called ‘Popi”.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, two brothers, Robert and John.
Richard is survived by; his wife June; children Charlotte (Dan) Louhela, Cherie (Steve) Weston, John (Pat) Seredinski, Hope (Dennis) Shaw, Forrest, and Richard Jr.; 15 grandchildren, Aaron, Kyle, John Jr., Nathan, Alec, Janine, Michael, Hayley, Savannah, Tony, Shantee, Frankie, Sabrina, Blake, Dylan; 15 great-grandchildren, Adam, Nicholas, Tori, Garrett, Myrissa, Tanner, Tristan, Jared, Jacob, Owen, Liam, Lex, Quincy, TeShaun, Leonte, great-great-grandchildren Calyb, Ailyea, Casyn.
