In Remembrance

Muriel Elaine Lucia, 92, passed away July 25, 2018 at Viewcrest Health Center in Duluth. Our caring and gentle mother will now forever be with her parents Verner and Ethel Nordberg, husband George, and beloved grandson Timothy (Timmy) Kusnierek – hold him close mom. Mom is survived by her children and spouses, grandchildren and spouses, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was a Denfeld graduate, confirmed and married in Elim Lutheran Church. Mom was always hard working, giving, caring and taking little for herself. Mom loved to read, knit, and bake. She made countless mittens, scarfs, hats, etc to be given away for family and friends, schools, shelters, church bazaars, Salvation Army, fund raisers for animal shelters, Chum, Damiano Center, hospital caps for newborns, chemo caps, etc. Moms need to help others especially children and animals made her until recently a regular contributor to: St. Jude’s, Shriners Children and Gillette Childrens Hospitals, Disabled Vets, St. Luke’s Foundation, Duluth and Superior animal shelters, private fund raisers for children with illnesses. We give thanks to so many: her doctors whom she loved Elizabeth Liljeblad and Jeray Johnson for your kindness, care and patience with her, St. Luke’s Hospital, ER and home health care, St. Luke’s Hospice, Jennifer and Nicole, and others for your care, comfort and thoughtfulness to Mom and her family, Viewcrest Health Center – to every one, floors 1 and 2 and each department your care, love, and dedication to Mom and her family. Affordable Cremation – your helpfulness and guidance through a difficult time. At Muriel’s request, no services will be held, memorials can be made to any of the Childrens Hospitals or animal shelters listed. Urn will be buried at Bethany Cemetery.
