Joseph Scott Burch of Superior, WI died Saturday April 8th, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth from complications associated with burn injuries sustained at Fraser Shipyard while working on the Roger Blough on February 6th.

Joe was born on March 24th, 1964 in Superior, WI. He was a union tradesman(boilermaker) for most of his working career.  He served in the Army from 1981-1983 receiving an honorable discharge, at which time he entered the reserves until 1987.  Joe loved the outdoors.  His free time was spent camping, fishing, and hunting.  He also enjoyed cooking and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.  He was a generous person and was always the first to help those in need, especially his mother, nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Joseph is survived by his mother, Judy Mackie, Superior, WI, brothers John Burch, Hayward, WI, Brian (Stacy) Mackie, Superior, WI, Eric (Amy) Mackie, Duluth, MN, a sister, Arlene Mackie, Superior, WI, a very special aunt, Daphne Hansen, Superior, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, George(Sonny) Burch, stepfather Henry Mackie, and a nephew, Luke Mackie.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to the amazing staff at Miller Dwan burn ICU and Solvay for the excellent care of Joe.
