In Remembrance

Eric John Petersson, 55 of Duluth, MN passed away on July 19^th, 2018. Eric was born on August 13^th, 1962 in Rochester, MN. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1981. He obtained a degree in Graphic Design from University of Wisconsin-Stout and most recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN.

Eric was a licensed general contractor and enjoyed designing, remodeling, and building kitchens, bathrooms, decks, and any parts of a home that people wanted. Eric was a craftsman and the perfection in his work was greatly appreciated by those whose homes and lives he touched. Eric loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping. Duluth, where he moved with his wife in 2014, was the perfect place to do all of these things. He loved the Duluth area and Lake Superior very much. Eric and his wife Carmel shared a deep love of animals and together were caring for 3 dogs, 20 rabbits, and 4 hedgehogs. Together they operated Petersson’s Gentle Giants, raising and breeding rabbits for 4-Hers and families to enjoy.

Eric is survived by his wife Carmel; his mother and father Sylvia and Jerry Ramaker of Rochester; sister Lisa Petersson (Sonia Furini) of Minneapolis; stepchildren Tucker and Shelby Johnson; and step sisters Sara Sleeuwenhoek (Brad Jilek) of Birchwood, WI, Carli Schaffner of Rochester, and Cynthia Collett of Ecuador, SA.

Eric was preceded in death by his father John (Jack) Petersson in February 1970, and his sister Marta Petersson in November, 2016.

Funeral  services will be on Wednesday, August 1^st at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3^rd Ave. SE in Rochester, MN at 1:00pm with visitation at 12:00pm.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for Eric Petersson in Duluth, MN in October 2018. More information will be provided in the future.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
