A Memorial Service will be held at The Vineyard Church, 1533 W Arrowhead Rd, Duluth, Wednesday February 25th, 2015. Visitation will begin at 11am followed by a service at 12pm.
Olympia ‘Ivette’ Vega, 56, a long-time resident of the Superior area, passed away Friday the 20th of February, 2015 at Solvay Hospice House.
Ivette was born to Carmen Lastra and Jose Vega on July 12th, 1958 in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
Ivette was a homemaker and dedicated her life to raising children. She was passionate about taking care of people and will be remembered as being the neighborhood mom. Her encouragement to others was always to “be nice” and her broken English was a continuous source of happiness.
Ivette is survived by her husband, Rafael Ramirez-Donato; her four children, William Ortiz, Carolim Ramirez, Genoveva Wilson, and Rafael Ramirez Jr. and her grandchildren Nashley, Gabriela, Abril, Dylan, and Charles. She is also survived by siblings; Auria, Cole, Carmen, Jose, Bonnie, Maria and Pablo.
Ivette is preceded in death by her mother; Carmen Lastra, father; José, brother; Augustine and grand-daughter; Jaynee Lynn Ortiz.
